Torture is Endemic in Israel
Richard Falk called for an international investigation into the death of Arafat Jaradat, an imprisoned Palestinian who died after being severely tortured at the hands of Israeli authorities recently.
Mr. Jaradat made an horrific court appearance, in extreme acute pain, where he was again detained after being charged with stone throwing. He confided in his attorney that he had been tortured and was in acute pain. Mr. Jaradat passed away several days after his court appearance, a victim of a vicious, routine Israeli interrogation.
Mr. Jaradat's autopsy showed no evidence of the heart attack, that Israel tried to insist was the cause of death. Mr. Jaradat had endured six broken bones, in his spine, arms and legs, as well as other obvious signs of torture.
A refugee in the land of his birth. Refugees are entitled to a humane treatment..
To anyone who follows internet news of the oppressive occupation in Palestine, it is known that torture is ordinary, routine and on-going in Israel. It is even approved of. Can you believe that?
